This site has the LARGEST listing of known bios numbers on the web period. Far more (well over 40%+) than any wimpy site. Can't copy a site that doesn't have the numbers!

 Introduction
When adding large harddrives, USB devices, video cards, etc., sometimes the bios of the motherboard must be upgraded. Bios upgrades can fix problems, allow newer cpus, allow larger harddrives, fix video problems, allow different settings, and other things.  Many people buy computers without really knowing who made the motherboard. Some computers come with a manual telling you who is the maker, others don't. But almost all of them can be identified by their bios number. If you flash your bios with the wrong BIOS upgrade, your system could stop booting. Some of the new motherboards can still boot this way, but need an ISA video card and a bootable floppy to reflash.

I'm NOT RESPONSIBLE for mistakes in this list !

Note: Trigem people can get bios files here: http://www.e4all.info/index.htm

Send me your Bios numbers to be added to the list.

2. Unplug your keyboard or hold down one of the keys on the keyboard
3. Power-on the system (you should get a keyboard error) or press pause when bios number shows.
4. Notice the long string of numbers in the lower left hand Corner of your screen. This is your BIOS identification string. It will look like one of these:

If the BOLD number is:

If you have a identification number that Corresponds to a NON-AMI motherboard you will need to Contact the Company or person who sold you the product.  .
